Katherine Bryer | ~ oboe | |
Irena Radic | ~ piano |
Katherine Bryer began playing the oboe at the age of fourteen in Northamptonshire before moving to Edinburgh in 2010 to study with Joe Houghton at St Mary's Music School. After completing her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Academy of Music in 2017, Katherine continued her studies on the Academy's MA course. During her studies she has learnt with Christopher Cowie, Ian Hardwick and Celia Nicklin, and cor anglais with Sue Bohling and Jill Crowther. Alongside her postgraduate degree Katherine was also keen to expand her opportunities outside of study, and she successfully auditioned for the 2017 London Philharmonic Orchestra's Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme and then the Philharmonia Orchestra's Martin Musical Scholarship Fund Instrumental Fellowship Programme in 2018. An active orchestral musician, Katherine has appeared with orchestras including BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra and has enjoyed performing in concert halls across the country and abroad. She is a member of the prestigious Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme.
British pianist Irena Radic is currently studying with Dina Parakhina for her Master of Performance degree as a CotesBurgan scholar at the Royal College of Music. She is generously supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and the Hilda Martindale Educational Trust. She was selected as a Philharmonia MMSF Piano Fellow, a Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award Holder, and has received further support from the St Marylebone Educational Foundation, the Tsukanov Family Foundation, the Wolfson Foundation and the Else and Leonard Cross Charitable Trust. She studied with Niel Immelman at the RCM and was a finalist in the Bromsgrove International Musicians Competition 2018, and won second prize in the RCM's Kendall Taylor Beethoven Competition 2018.
