Jonathan Hinden worked at Glyndebourne for more than 40 years, where he was a principal coach and for some time Head of Music Staff. He taught at the Royal Academy of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. He has performed widely as pianist, harpsichordist and conductor and given many Masterclasses for singers. Now largely retired, he is still in demand as a speaker for NADFAS and other societies.

The evening will comprise a non-technical and not too serious account of Mozart's masterpiece, its characters and its story, with illustrations on the piano, concentrating on the composer's ability to express personality and emotion through music, with a brief look at the circumstances and background of its creation.
